Cross Cultural Awareness
We present a full Cultural Day at schools, delivering a Cross Cultural Awareness package that aims to give school students an insight into Indigenous culture through demonstrations of artifacts, craft, story-telling, dot painting and traditional dance.
The whole day cross cultural awareness program consists of:
- A presentation of a a wide selection of aboriginal artifacts for students (and staff) to see, feel and touch. This includes a variety of boomerangs, spears, shields, dot paintings, didgeridoos, ochre paints, kangaroo skins, etc.
- During the morning, we deliver 2 x 1 hour talks covering all aspects of Aboriginal Culture. During this time students are encouraged to ask questions - Our presentation covers the craftsmanship of the aboriginal artifacts, their uses, and how aboriginal people lived in the past.
- The talks are followed by a 1 hour Traditional Dance Performance, incorporating Dreamtime stories, which are are narrated and portrayed in dance performances.
